Purpose
The ANU Entrepreneurship Club (ANUEC) values reliability, transparency, and mutual respect among all members and volunteers. This policy outlines expectations for attendance, communication, and team conduct, while recognising that all members have personal, academic, and professional commitments.
Guiding Principles
- ANUEC promotes a culture of understanding and flexibility, balanced with accountability and respect for others’ time.
- Members are trusted to manage their own schedules and communicate absences responsibly.
- This policy is designed to maintain fairness, ensure active engagement, and protect the effectiveness of the team.
Short-Term Absence
- Members may take short breaks or time off of up to one week without the need to provide a reason or documentation.
- Members are expected to inform their immediate supervisor, manager, or the Secretary before taking leave, where possible.
- Repeated or extended absences beyond one week should be discussed with the relevant Executive member.
Expectations for Active Team Members
Being a good team member means:
- Staying reasonably active and responsive on Slack and other Club communication platforms.
- Responding to key messages or requests within a reasonable timeframe.
- Completing assigned work or tasks reliably and on time.
- Being transparent about workload, availability, and any challenges that may affect performance.
- Checking email and Club communications regularly.
- Attending team meetings, Club events, and official activities punctually.
- Responding to invites to help with planning and coordination.
Members are expected to maintain respectful and consistent communication with their peers and managers.
